History: the saga of a family passion
Land, vine and wine have been the pillars of the family for five generations; after agronomist studies and various work experiences as a consulting engineer, I decided to come back to land to assist my father, take over the Domaine and write a new chapter in the history of our estate.
Location and soil
15 ha of vineyards around Turquant, a winemaking village also known for its troglodytes.
The vineyard, located on the Appellation d’Origine Controllée "Saumur-Champigny" area, benefit from an ideal landscape : protected by the national forest of Fontevraud-l’Abbaye and the Loire river, it enjoys exceptional sunshine and mild weather.
The Romans named this land “champigny” or "field of fire" because of this amazing microclimate. Today this vineyard has been chosen to represent the Loire valley under the World Heritage listing by UNESCO.
The soil is composed of a warm mix of clay and limestone over tufa rock that absorbs winter’s rain, and slowly returns it during summer.
Cabernet Franc is the main grape of our vineyards.
